A Baltimore City firefighter was injured in a fall during a two-alarm blaze late Thursday.

Crews responded to a fire at a vacant home in southwest Baltimore at about 6:30 p.m., WJZ-TV reports. The fast-moving blaze sent flames shooting through the roof.

“The fire did spread rather quickly,” a Baltimore City Fire Department official told WJZ. “It spread to the second floor and through the roof, which resulted in us striking out a second alarm and calling in additional units.”

While battling the blaze, a firefighter fell from the first floor to the basement. No details were given about the injury, but the firefighter is expected to recover, according to WJZ.
